‘Traille’ is a puzzle-like book object that has been composed of both Braille and shapes, and attempts to help visually impaired reader’s learn how to organise, identify and navigate by matching tacit information. The three-dimensional nature of ‘Traille’ aims to achieve playful investigation, and the smoothness of the faces aids in encouraging the reader’s hands to move across the puzzle pieces attentively. Primarily this book object has been designed for visually impaired young adults to potentially help gain confidence in their independently ability to recognise and organise the information around themselves; it can also be used by parents of blind children to comprehend how Braille can be used practically and its abilities to move and change.
